Sustainability & Community Impact: Upholding Tri Hita Karana

Our mission to heal individuals is intrinsically linked to our responsibility to heal and protect the environment and community that make our work possible. Our sustainability policy is guided by the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana—maintaining harmony between people, nature, and the spiritual realm. This is not an afterthought; it is a core operational principle.

Environmental Commitments (Parahyangan & Palemahan)

We are dedicated to minimizing our ecological footprint and actively contributing to the preservation of Bali’s unique natural heritage.

  • Carbon Neutral Operations: We partner with the Indonesian carbon-offset platform jejak.in to meticulously track and offset the carbon footprint of each guest’s stay, including ground transportation and villa energy consumption.
  • Beyond Plastic: We enforce a strict no single-use plastic policy across all our operations, in full compliance with Bali Governor’s Regulation No. 97 of 2018. We provide guests with reusable alternatives and partner with suppliers who share our commitment to plastic-free packaging.
  • Water Stewardship: We exclusively partner with properties that have implemented advanced water conservation systems, including rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling, to protect Bali’s precious water resources.
  • Marine Conservation Support: A percentage of every retreat fee is donated directly to the Coral Triangle Center in Sanur, supporting their vital work in protecting marine biodiversity and providing sustainable livelihoods for coastal communities.
  • Regenerative Sourcing: Our menus are designed around organic, locally sourced ingredients to minimize food miles and support regenerative farming practices. We actively partner with local farms like Moksa Ubud and Sari Organik.

Community Commitments (Pawongan)

We believe that luxury tourism must create tangible, positive impacts for the local community.

  • Local Employment & Empowerment: Over 90% of our team are Indonesian nationals, with a priority on hiring from local Balinese communities. We invest in continuous professional development and training, offering fair wages that exceed industry standards.
  • Supporting Local Artisans: We facilitate respectful, non-transactional cultural experiences for our guests. The amenities in our villas, from hand-woven textiles to ceramics, are sourced directly from local artisans and cooperatives, ensuring they receive 100% of the proceeds.
  • Community Health Initiatives: Through our parent group, Juara Holding, we support the Yayasan PUSPADI Bali, a non-profit that provides prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation services to people with disabilities in Bali and Eastern Indonesia.
  • Cultural Preservation: We work with local community leaders (Bendesa Adat) to ensure our activities are respectful of local customs and ceremonies. We provide guests with comprehensive cultural orientation to foster mindful and appreciative interaction.

Our commitment is to ensure that a guest’s journey of personal restoration contributes directly to the restoration and resilience of Bali itself. For more on our trusted network, see our Partners & Affiliations page.
